What is Holistic Nutritional Therapy and Naturopathic Nutrition?
Holistic means treating the whole person rather than the symptoms of illness and Naturopathic means using natural techniques and remedies which work with the body helping it to heal itself.
In these present times our food simply does not contain all the nutrients we need for optimum health. Modern day intensive farming, the pesticides used, pollution and the stressful lives we lead all take their toll on our health and wellbeing. Not to mention the increase in convenience foods and the potentially harmful additives in our food. All this can have a knock on effect on our health and can eventually lead to chronic and degenerative illnesses.
Often when conventional medicine is used to treat illnesses, only the symptoms are treated, the illness is then suppressed and pushed back inside the body and often manifests at a later time in life, as a much bigger problem.
With naturopathic techniques we can try and work back to the point at where the illness started, like peeling back the layers of an onion. We can then move forwards and work towards healing the body in a much more natural and gentle way. Naturopathic techniques often take a little longer but the result is, by far worth the wait.
My passion to is help my clients get back to the good health I now enjoy for myself. What is a healthy person?A healthy person is someone who is balanced physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. I am committed to helping my clients find that balance.
Who can be helped? All age groups can be helped with Holistic Nutritional Therapy and Naturopathic techniques.
Working from home and several venues in the Slough and surrounding areas, I believe that illnesses do not just manifest in the physical body, often emotional issues are a key factor in a person's ill-health. I will look at all aspects of a clients wellbeing, including the health of parents, grandparents and siblings to establish if there is a genetic connection. This can be useful in trying to implement preventative measures in the future health of the client. Clients will be advised on healing via dietary and possible lifestyle changes. Quality supplements will also be recommended as necessary. If the programme is followed correctly then your journey to better health will begin.
It is important to remember though that your GP must be your first port of call when experiencing health problems, as Nutritional Therapy comes under the umbrella of 'Complementary Medicine' and is meant to run alongside conventional medicine.
Not just a nutritional consultation, but a complete holistic nutritional overhaul
There are many reasons why a person becomes ill, with Holistic Nutritional Therapy we look behind the symptoms and try to get to the underlying cause of the problem so that the client can heal from the inside out. This I find to be a more beneficial, and being a natural and long lasting solution. Working with the body so that it is enabled to heal itself. Only natural techniques are used in my practice and all factors of health will be considered. Good nutrition, including good quality supplements where necessary, past emotional scars, and genetic factors being among them. Sometimes, just basic amendments to a clients diet and nutritional support can have such an impact on their health.
